πŸ§ͺ A Recruiting Platform for Executive Search Firms

Thrive TRM is a talent relationship management platform used by executive search firms, recruiters, and VC/PE firms to track candidates, streamline hiring, and share talent insights. As Thrive expanded into the enterprise market, they needed a more scalable, unified design system to support both users and engineers, and signal maturity to prospects.

πŸ” The Problem

Thrive’s rapid growth exposed cracks in their product’s interaction model. Features were powerful, but inconsistent. Users found the interface hard to parse, workflows disjointed, and functionality difficult to scale. Internally, engineers lacked a shared design language, making it harder to ship improvements quickly. To win enterprise business, the team needed to show clear UX progress and readiness.

πŸ› οΈ Solution

We created an atomic design system that brought consistency and structure across the platform. Starting with core entities like Candidates, Contacts, and Companies, we redesigned the experience for clarity and scalability. Our system gave engineers the patterns and guidance to extend the new UI, while also improving usability for power users managing large pipelines.

πŸ“ˆ Outcome

βœ… 100+ components across atoms, molecules, and organisms, ready for dev

βœ… Streamlined search & tagging for faster candidate access

βœ… Cleaner layout & hierarchy made information easier to scan

β€¨βœ… Designs served as a foundation for future product modernization

βœ… Enterprise-ready UX helped signal product maturity to big clients

βœ… Shared system aligned product, design, and engineering on future work

🎯 My Role

Senior Product Designer

I overhauled the product from the inside out, leading UX and visual design for critical workflows and defining a new design system to unify it all.

πŸ”§ What I Did

πŸ” Led user research with stakeholders and end users to uncover pain points

πŸ“‘ Audited the existing platform to identify UX and visual inconsistencies

🧩 Co-developed an atomic design system with reusable patterns and tokens

πŸ› οΈ Designed and prototyped new workflows (e.g. Candidate Profiles, Search, Tagging)

πŸ—£οΈ Ran validation sessions and translated feedback into refinements

πŸ“ Delivered developer-ready specs and supported handoff

πŸ”„ What I’d Do Differently

I'd push for earlier collaboration with engineering to build a shared backlog of β€œdev-friendly” components, and advocate for more real-time feedback loops post-launch to keep the system evolving with user needs.

Appointment Booking

A legacy salon and spa platform needed future-ready flows to win back an enterprise client. I redesigned key appointment and payment experiences to reduce friction and rebuild trust.

Comcast Business Mobile

Multiple dev teams were struggling with inconsistent tools across cloud platforms. I created a unified internal experience that made complex work faster, clearer, and easier to scale.

Sporttrade

A fast-moving startup reimagining sports betting as a stock trading experience needed internal tools to help market operators manage real-time game data accurately, efficiently, and at scale.
